Tutoring Logs Due!

Please make sure you turn in your tutoring logs as soon as possible - due by first week in January. Please let me know if you are having to change to another class. I think I know most of you, but I'm not sure. I will miss your blogs - I really enjoy readin them. If you are staying, you might want to check with your cooperating teacher about a book you can summarize - it should have chapters or sections. If you have questions, let me know! Posting Your Blogs

Everyone is doing a great job getting their blogs posted. The teachers are keeping you all busy and it sounds like your learning lots of useful things for the future!! Don't forget to keep your tutoring logs up to date and turn them in the last week in December or the first week in January!

Quarter Grades

Everyone has done very well in getting their blogging completed! I've gotten good reports from your classroom teachers! Congratulations to those who are on the softball team - great job! Keep up the good work everyone!!! Reminder: You will need to turn in your tutoring logs 1-2 weeks before the end of the semester (December 22 - last day of school in December- or January 5 - first day back after Christmas vacation) - you need to have at least 25 hours!! Thanks!

Reflection Journals

I want to tell you how impressed I am with your journaling! Not only are you helping students to learn what needs to be learned, but you are also learning in the process. There are excellent comments about teaching strategies you are seeng in the classroom and everyone seems to be enjoying the experience as well!!

Most of you are very prompt and are blogging each week like requested. A few have forgotten to do their blogging this last week. Please get that done as soon as possible!!!!

Autobiographies

Your autobiographies were wonderful -- very interesting reading! It was great getting to know the people I've not met before. and it was nice getting to know a lot of you all over again. You've changed somewhat since kindergarten! (Some cases, not so much!). Thanks to everyone who got their's in ahead of time and on Friday. A few got their's in today (Monday). Only have one that I haven't gotten yet, but it may come in today! Keep up the journaling. It sounds like everyone is being kept very busy in their respective classrooms. Enjoy the experience!

Cadet Teachers

Hope everyone has remembered to post your autobiography! Due Sept. 18 - that's Friday!

Autobiography Due Date

For those of you who have not received this message, please be sure and have your autobiography blogged by September 18. It will be graded on a rubric/scoring guide and returned to you so that you can file it or can make any corrections needed to make it an A (i.e., you left out a portion - you can just blog the correction by labeling it the" correction"). Please make sure any corrections are made before mid-quarter.

I also want to say how pleased I am at how quickly you have gotten involved with your cadet teaching. You make the teacher's job esasier and the students love having you in the classroom as well. Way to GO!

Reminder

Your autobiography is due by September 18. If you have not turned in your signed Cadet Teaching Contract, please do so as soon as possible. Also, please check with your classroom teacher to see if s/he has turned in her/his signed Teacher Contract. Thanks!!

Welcome to Cadet Teaching!

I will be meeting with you during your cadet teaching time to give you your Cadet teaching Handbook and to help you set up your blog for this class. It will be easy - if you can do Facebook you can do this!! All assignments will be posted and I will be checking each week to make sure you have everything finished. Cadet Teaching will be as fun as you make it - and remember - the students you work with will be the beneficiaries!! Have a great year!

End of School

Please make sure that you have all of your journals posted or blogged by May 1. Our final meeting is May 5. Due: tutoring logs, journals/blogs, chapter summaries. Seniors, it is very important that you have everything in. If you are an A+ student you have to have the following requirments completed by May 1: 50 hours of tutoring (logs), FAFSA (documentation), registration with Selective Service if you turn 18 before graduation (males only)(documentation), INTENT TO ACCESS form completed and turned in (attendance waiver if needed). Your teachers have been turning in your final evaluations. Great job!

Next Meeting

We will be meeting on the 7th of April during advisory in the high school library. Please turn in journals and summaries. Also -- you will need to return the binder you were given at the beginning of the school year before the end of the year. Thanks!

I had a great time going around to all the classes and getting pictures of the cadets doing their tutoring. The teachers I talked with had only wonderful things to say about each of their cadets. Great job!

Mid-Term Grades

Mid-term grades will consist of the rubrics filled out by your cooperating teachers, your journals, and 1-3 chapter summaries. I will be checking with you in your tutoring class tomorrow, Wednesday, March 11. See you tomorrow. Please have written journals and summaries ready to hand in. Thanks!

Mid-Term

Don't forget that you need to have your journals posted or your handwritten journals to me by our meeting on March 17. You also have to have at least 1-3 chapter summaries posted on your blog or given to me by the same date!!!
